  • Applications received after this date are not guaranteed a spot, but we understand some people cannot apply immediately. If you apply after this deadline, your acceptance is also contingent upon having room in the schedule and we cannot guarantee your preferred panel time.

June 13-18 - Panel review ✔️

June 19 - Acceptance emails ✔️

June 19 - 28 - Panel scheduling ✔️

June 29 - Final schedule goes live

July 10-12 - FujoCon

PANEL RULES & GUIDELINES

GENERAL

  • All panelists/groups must fill out an application to be considered for a panel spot at FujoCon.

  • Panel groups may consist of 1-4 individuals.

  • On the date of your panel, panelists MUST check-in online at least 30 minutes before your scheduled panel time to give you time to set-up, meet the panel mod(s), and make sure everything is working smoothly.

  • Panelists may also be required to attend a run-through prior to the event itself in order to troubleshoot/anticipate any technical issues.

  • All panelists, presenters or helpers must be age 18 or older by the application deadline to participate.

Panel Topics

We encourage panelists to incorporate topics that would fit with the FujoCon theme. Topics can include, but are not limited to:

  • Boys’ love / yaoi manga and anime

  • BL and slash doujinshi and fan comics

  • LGBT manga and anime

  • Slash fan works

  • MM Romance original works

  • Sports anime and manga

  • Male idol fandom

  • Fujoshi and shipping culture

  • Cosplay, itabagging, and fandom fashion

  • Women in fandom

PROHIBITED TOPICS

  • We will not be accepting any cosplay “in-character” panels for this event.

  • We encourage those interested in these types of panels to host or join one of the official fandom gatherings. You can find the list of approved fandom gatherings and information about how to submit one at the bottom of this page.

We understand that some panel topics might be controversial, but we do want to create a welcoming environment to panelists & attendees. Harassment of panelists or attendees will not be tolerated. If the topic is not to your taste, we encourage you to check out any of our other events going on during the weekend. Just remember BE EXCELLENT TO EACH OTHER!

Panel Ratings

Please let us know the rating of your panel so that we can announce them appropriately. Ratings are as follows:

  • General (no NSFW content)

  • Adult (may include NSFW content, but no explicit depictions of genitalia/sexual acts)

Panel Length and Setup

  • Panel slots are typically 1 hour, but may be up to 1.5 hours in length.

  • If you need more time for your panel, please indicate this in your submission form as well as why you will need the additional time.

  • Panelists must have a strong internet connection at time of the presentation as well as a decent quality mic in order for your audience to hear and understand you.

  • Panels will be scheduled for the dates July 11-12, 2020

Panel formats

Panel formats are subject to equipment availability:

  • Standard/Lecture

    • 1-4 panelists with a minimum of 1 staff moderator, discussing a topic with an online audience.

    • The audience will be muted, but can send questions to the panel moderator for the presenter.

  • Game Show

    • 1-4 panelists present a gameshow set up via Zoom, JackBox, Kahoot, or other interactive online software.

    • Will be assigned at least 1 staff moderator as needed.

    • Audience will begin muted, but chosen audience members can be unmuted in order to participate.
